The Ford Place Restaurant
and Pub
Welcome to “The Ford Place.” Our building was constructed in 1922 and operated by the Haywood family as a Ford Auto Dealership until 1960. Prior to this, the Haywoods operated a livery stable on this site.
The restoration of “The Ford Place” is the result of the interest of our Town Council and many other citizens. They launched an effort to revitalize the downtown of Mt. Gilead. Many of our downtown buildings date from the early 1900’s and are fine examples of architecture from that period. The Mount Gilead Downtown Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Thank you to all who made this project possible. We look forward to helping you plan your meetings, parties, birthdays, wedding receptions, and other special events at “The Ford Place.
